I'm sorry grandma
I'm sorry grandma to write this letter.
But I have regrets, writing makes me feel better.
I know you can see me while I'm writing this on the plane
I think it was the only way to reach you so you could read my pain
I'm sorry we didn't see each other for the past 5 years
I think being reprimanded by you for not calling was my biggest fear
I'm sorry I didn't call for any of your birthdays
Was glad though to hear your voice when it was my day.
I'm sorry we had to meet again only a few days before you left
I was honored to sit next to you though, more precisely on your left
An hour in private with you was enough to realize how much I cared for you
The rest of my life will never be enough to forget you.
I'd like to tell you something even if you can't hear
The day you left I couldn't burst into tears
I couldn't realize you were actually gone forever
It was hard to wake up last saturday, the day I would get one year older.
I'm sorry grandma I hope you can forgive me.
I apologize for not being the grandson I should be
In tears I am while writing these lines
Im sorry I had to live far from you, to more than a thousand miles
I love you grandma, I want you to know it.
I could never repeat it enough even If I know you'd love it
I'm trying to heal my past with the balm of my future.
Remember the past, healing the present, living the future.
That's what some people used to say, I need to check, I'm not sure
I'll try to keep that in mind and let you stay in peace.
I'm sorry for disturbing, but now i'm done at least.
Before completing this letter I want to say thank you.
Good night grandma and sorry for disturbing you.
I'd like to hug you as hard as I loved you
Instead I'd like to end this by wishing you
Happy birthday for all the years I didn't do
But I have regrets, writing makes me feel better.
